Foundry Garage Doors, Newcastle

What we do

Springs, cables, tracks, openers, and the whole door.

Everything a Newcastle garage-door trade actually gets called out for, grouped by the kind of job it is. Faults are urgent and a call-out; new doors are considered and measured on site. There are no prices here on purpose, the door in front of us sets those.

Repairs, usually urgent

Something's broken

The car's trapped, or the door won't close and the house is open overnight. These are the calls we move on. Book a repair →

01

Broken spring repair & replacement

Torsion and extension springs. The single most common urgent fault, a snapped spring drops the door and leaves it too heavy to lift. Replaced with the correct rated spring for the door's weight, never an under-spec substitute.

Urgent
02

Cable repair & replacement

Snapped or frayed lift cables, and cables that have jumped the drum. They almost always go hand-in-hand with spring work, so we check both while we're there.

Urgent
03

Off-track & roller repair

Re-railing a door that's jumped its track, worn or seized rollers replaced, and bent or misaligned track put back true so the door runs square again.

Urgent
04

Door won't open / won't close

A door stuck half-open with the car inside, or one that won't seal down. We find why (spring, cable, track, opener or safety beam) and get it moving safely.

Urgent

Openers & motors

The automatic side

Mechanical faults we handle; any mains-wiring is done by a licensed electrician. Book an opener call-out →

Motor / opener repair

An opener that won't drive, cuts out intermittently, or a safety-beam (photo-eye) fault that stops the door closing. Diagnosed and repaired where the unit's sound, replaced where it isn't.

Opener supply & install

A new automatic opener fitted to your existing door, belt, chain or the right drive for the door. The 240V connection is licensed-electrical work and done by a licensed electrician.

Remotes & keypads

Handheld remotes and wall or external keypads supplied, replaced and reprogrammed. A dead remote is often a battery or a re-pair, not a new opener.

Smart & battery-backup upgrades

Wi-Fi / app modules and battery-backup so the door still works in a power cut. Described generically, the exact features come down to the opener you have or choose.

New doors, measure & quote

Time for a new one

Considered, higher-value, and worth getting right. We measure on site and quote the door, opener and colour together. Free measure & quote →

A modern sectional panel-lift garage door on a Newcastle brick home

New sectional doors

The dominant modern door, horizontal panels that lift up and back overhead. Best for insulation and a wide double opening. Insulated panels suit a west-facing garage that bakes.

A corrugated steel roller garage door on an older Newcastle garage

New roller doors

A steel curtain that rolls into a compact drum, the least headroom of the three, so it suits tight or low-ceiling garages common in the older inner suburbs.

An older single-panel tilt garage door on a Newcastle brick-and-tile home

New tilt doors

A one-piece panel that tilts up and out. Mostly a replacement for the ageing tilt doors across the established suburbs, simple, fewer moving parts.

Not sure which suits your garage? The sectional, roller or tilt guide lays out the trade-offs side by side.

Service & tune-up

Before it fails, not after.

The bread-and-butter call that saves the emergency one. A door that's getting heavy, noisy or slow is a spring under strain and worn rollers running dry, caught early, it's a tune-up instead of a snapped spring on a Sunday.

Book a tune-up

Rebalance & re-tension

Spring tension reset so the door counterbalances properly and the opener isn't fighting the weight.

Rollers, tracks & hinges

Worn rollers replaced, tracks cleaned and aligned, moving parts lubricated so it runs quiet.

Seals & weather strips

Base seals and weather strips against Newcastle's rain, draughts and the odd curious possum.
